DSE Admission 2026-27 Maharashtra: Dates, Schedule, Registration & Eligibility

The State Common Entrance Test Cell, Maharashtra, has issued the Admission Notice for Direct Second Year (Lateral Entry) - Engineering / Technology [3 Years Duration] for the Academic Year 2026-27. This applies to admissions in Government, Government Aided, University Managed, University Departments, and Unaided Private Professional Educational Institutions across Maharashtra.

📄 Process of Application and Document Verification

The Candidate shall register online on www.mahacet.org, fill & submit the online application form, and upload the required documents. This year, the Competent Authority has introduced two modes for document verification:

• E-Scrutiny Mode: You can upload documents from anywhere and they will be verified online by the designated E-Scrutiny Center. You don't need to visit personally.
• Physical Scrutiny Mode: You need to select a time slot and visit the nearest Scrutiny Center (SC) / Facilitation Centre (FC) personally with original documents for verification.

⚠️ Important Instructions for Candidates

• Application Rejection: If candidates fail to confirm online filled application by E-Scrutiny center or Physical Scrutiny Center, their names will not appear in the merit lists.
• Seat Acceptance Fee: The fee is ₹ 1,000/- for all Candidates during the first seat acceptance. It is non-refundable and must be paid online.
• Caste/Tribe Validity: Reserved category candidates (SC, VJ/DT NT, OBC, SBC, SEBC) must produce a "Caste Validity Certificate" and ST must submit a "Tribe Validity Certificate". If they submit a receipt during CAP registration, they must verify and submit the original before the final reporting date of the fourth CAP round.
• Non Creamy Layer & EWS: All Backward Class candidates (excluding SC & ST) must produce a Non-Creamy Layer certificate valid up to 31st March 2027. EWS candidates must submit their Eligibility Certificate.
• Option Form Freezing: Once an option form is confirmed online, it cannot be changed or canceled under any circumstances.
• Auto Freeze: If you get your first preference in Round I (Auto Freeze) or top 3 preferences in Round II or top 6 in Round III, you MUST pay the seat acceptance fee and you won't be eligible for subsequent rounds.
