The Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test Cell has released the complete schedule for the Direct Second Year Engineering (DSE) admissions for the academic year 2026. Diploma holders looking to get direct entry into the second year of B.E. or B.Tech must closely follow these timelines to ensure they don't miss out on securing their seat.

Document Verification Process
Candidates can choose either the E-Scrutiny Mode or the Physical Scrutiny Mode for document verification:
Process for E-Scrutiny Mode Selected Candidates:
- Candidates must fill out the online application form, scan original documents, and upload them from any computer or smartphone.
- There is no need to visit a Facilitation Center (FC). The application and documents will be verified by the FC online.
- If no error is found: The verification status and a receipt-cum-acknowledgment will be available in the candidate's login.
- If an error is found: Details of errors will be communicated by reverting the application. The candidate must correct it and resubmit.
Process for Physical Scrutiny Mode Selected Candidates:
- Candidates must visit the Physical Scrutiny Center they selected online.
- They must carry required original documents and visit during their allotted time slot for verification and confirmation.
- After successful confirmation, the Physical Scrutiny Center will issue a receipt-cum-acknowledgment.
Submission of Grievances
If there is any discrepancy in the data displayed in the provisional merit list, candidates must submit a grievance from 23-07-2026 to 25-07-2026:
- Candidates can raise grievances through their online login.
- The application will be reverted back for rectification.
- Candidates need to upload necessary documents to substantiate their claim.
- Those who opted for Physical Scrutiny mode must visit their respective FC to resolve their grievances.
Once all grievances are addressed, the Final Merit List will be published on 27-07-2026. From there on, the CAP Rounds will commence.
Important Instructions for Candidates
- Application Confirmation: If candidates fail to confirm online filled application by E-Scrutiny center or Physical Scrutiny Center then such applications will be rejected and name of such candidates will not appear in the merit list(s) prepared for the purpose of Admission for both CAP as well as Non CAP process.
- Caste & Non Creamy Layer Certificates: The candidates belonging to SC, VJ/DT (NT (A), NT (B), NT(C), NT (D), OBC, SBC and SEBC categories shall produce “Caste Validity Certificate”, ST category shall submit “Tribe Validity Certificate” and EWS candidates shall submit EWS Certificate, All Backward Class candidates excluding SC & ST shall produce Non Creamy Layer certificate valid upto 31st March 2027. If such candidates fail to produce the original certificate or receipt of Caste/Tribe validity certificate, Non Creamy Layer certificate and EWS certificate issued by competent authority at the time of verification at Scrutiny Center, then such candidates will be treated as GENERAL category candidates for CAP Admissions.
- EWS Certificate: EWS candidates shall produce the Eligibility Certificate for Economically Weaker Section. (As per the format in Maharashtra State Government Resolution No. राआधो- 4019/P.N.31/16-अ, dated 31/05/2021 only)
- Fee Difference: Candidates who have registered as a reserved category candidate but unable to produce required certificate for reservation claim during documents verification stage shall have to pay difference of fee of Rs. 300/- through online mode only.
- Receipt Submission (Various Categories): Candidates belonging to SC, ST, VJ/DT, NT(A), NT(B), NT(C), NT(D), SBC and EWS categories who submitted a receipt for their Caste/Tribe Validity Certificate or Non Creamy Layer Certificate or EWS Certificate during the CAP registration process must upload and verify their original certificates by visiting a Scrutiny Center. They must then submit these original certificates to the admitted institute on or before the final reporting date of the fourth CAP round. Failure to do so will result in the automatic cancellation of their admission. Consequently, such candidates will be considered under the Open category for subsequent institute-level rounds, provided they fulfill the eligibility criteria for the Open category.
- OBC and SEBC Caste Validity: Candidates belonging to the OBC and SEBC categories who submitted a receipt for their Caste Validity Certificate must upload and verify their original certificate by visiting a Scrutiny Center, in accordance with the timeline specified in G.R. No.संकिर्ण 2024/प्र.क्र.75(भाग-1)/ आरक्षर्-5, dated 02/07/2026, issued by the General Administration Department.
- OBC and SEBC Non-Creamy Layer: Candidates belonging to OBC and SEBC categories who submitted a receipt for their Non-Creamy Layer Certificate during the CAP registration process must upload and verify their original Non-Creamy Layer Certificate by visiting a Scrutiny Center. They must then submit this original certificate to the admitted institute on or before the final reporting date of the fourth CAP round. Failure to do so will result in the automatic cancellation of their admission. Consequently, such candidates will be considered under the Open category for subsequent institute-level rounds, provided they fulfill the eligibility criteria for the Open category.
- OCI Candidates: For the OCI candidates, the directives of the Hon. Supreme Court order WP(C) No. 891/2021 will apply.
- Orphan Reservation: The Orphan Reservation will apply in accordance with the Government Resolutions issued by the Women and Child Development Department, Government of Maharashtra, from time to time.
- Defence Reservation: The Defence Reservation will apply as per the rules of the Government of Maharashtra and Letter No. F.No. 6(1) /201/D (Res.II) of the Ministry of Defence, Department of Ex-Servicemen Welfare, Government of India, dated May 21, 2018.
